30 Days was enough! :)

OK...this was a test run to see if I had it in me to blog daily...and frankly, I do NOT! I like going with the flow and there have been days in this Deliberate Ingestion Fest when I felt more like cuddling with my son or going for a swim than I felt like blogging...I think once a week is plenty for me...so check out my other blog from here on called Blissful Regardless and keep on choosing consciously!

Much love,
Marcelle

Day 30: Forgive Yourself

I did NOT eat deliberately yesterday...yup, I had an emotional eating day where I consumed every last bit of chocolate I could get my hands on! So then I had a choice....feel guilty about it or forgive myself and choose again, knowing now how much better I feel when I wait to eat when I am in alignment on all levels :)

If you make a choice that does not feel good, you get to choose new thoughts and choose new actions...that is the beauty of the Universe we live in!

As an eternal soul that just changes forms, you can never get it done and never get it wrong because there is no final exam or verdict...EVER!

It is a relief to know that I came here to experience contrast and to make choices that do not feel good sometimes so that I can know what DOES feel good and choose again :)

And today I had a gorgeous breakfast of poached, local organic eggs on top of a pile of locally grown organic tomatoes and some fragrant basil I picked from my patio garden with a sprinkle of sea salt....absolutely Divine! I also had some organic raspberries and blackberries that my son and I picked at a local farm a few days ago and now am off to take a siesta in the sun and sip some live lemonade...ahhhh back in sync with what I believe is best for me and it feels sooooo good!

Days 27-28-29: Appreciating Abundance

This weekend, I let go of preconceived ideas about what we should do or where we should go and expanded my mind to imagine all kinds of abundant possibilities...and we had such a fun time! Things flowed easily from one activity to another...a delicious date night dinner, hysterically funny movie, seriously pleasurable pleasuring session, sleeping long and late, finding treasures at a eco-elephant flea market, savoring juicy berries as we picked them in the sun, munching on delicious treats at a local farmer's market, having a BBQ with good friends, sweating in a fun BellyFusion class, then drinking live lemonade and eating vegan donuts and spinach pie at the farmer's market...then just chilling at home...such rich abundant fullness~! Life is ripe with abundant opportunities for joy and pleasure....what can you appreciate in this moment?

Day 26: Mind Your Own Pie

I was listening to an Abraham-Hicks CD this morning and was reminded to "mind my own pie".

They eloquently explained that when we are in the kitchen of Life, if we focus on the ingredients we do not like that are in the cupboard or on what another has put in their pie, we are through Law of Attraction drawing that into our own pie. If we were to just focus on all the delicious, juicy things we are putting into our own pie and ignore the rest, our experience will be nothing but fabulous!

Today, I will not get into the pie of world politics or negative news....I will not get into my husband's pie by trying to figure out why he is grumpy or how I can help...I will not get involved in conversations that criticize or make fun of another....instead I will connect with my gorgeous back yard full of trees, my sweet cuddly son, and all of the unconditionally loving & joyous animal friends I have....I will focus on all the peace, love, happiness, friends, family and abundance I am blessed with!

Yes, when I mind my own business, my pie is absolutely delicious!

In what ways can you "mind your own pie"? What ingredients are you putting in yours?

Day 25: Being Spontaneous

Today, I went to power up my Blackberry and look at what I had to do today and it did not turn on. I seem to have manifested exactly what my Inner Being was desiring...a break from the business of getting things done and time to just follow my heart and be spontaneous!

So I threw a load of laundry in , cleaned the guinea pig and hamster cages, unloaded the dishwasher, made my son and I breakfast, took a really long hot shower, washed my hair, and laid on my bed in my underwear just breathing and chilling for awhile...then I walked the dog and felt I had accomplished enough....so I mosied down to the computer and looked at and commented on the pics of friends on FaceBook...something I usually do not feel I have the time for. Now I am going to just read and look at a few emails, whatever calls me, and maybe do a bit of random websurfing to find some delicious clothes to wear hooping or some fun items for our home.

I have a hot date tonight with my husband starting at 3:30, so for the rest of the day til then I am going to go with the flow and be completely spontaneous, remembering that there is nothing that I HAVE TO do, only what I WANT to do :)

Day 24: Accepting Messiness

Today I decided to accept the daily messes I find myself cleaning up, sometimes with resentment and often with resistance, and decided to consciously make peace with any "messiness" that popped up in my field of awareness...to just bless it and give thanks for my ability to see it, to imagine it getting cleaned up by someone else or to clean it up only if I was feeling at peace.

Just deciding this made me feel so relaxed and light.

Even when my 8y.o. son spilled a whole bowl of Tings all over our living room floor and I just laughed...it really felt like "no biggie"....and he and his buddy cleaned them all up without my help!

And rather than try to wipe my son's face or comb his hair, I just celebrated his natural messiness and he actually decided to style his own hair with gel and wash up without any prompting!

Yes, miracles happen when we relax and go with the flow!

Day 23: Pleasure Treasure Hunt

Today, I invite you to join my son and I in going on Pleasure Treasure Hunt...as you move through your day, look for any ways you can indulge in pleasure and fun....savor the warm water when you wash the dishes or blow bubbles with a wand in between scrubbing pots...make a game of cleaning the floors or just take lots of little breaks for dancing, singing, or playing in some way.

Look around for beauty wherever you can find it. ...and I guarantee you it will feel sooo good!

Day20-21&22: Loving Life Unplugged

This weekend I took a break from technology and computers and cyberspace and relaxed into my life moment by moment....and realized that I could deliberately love my life, as it is right now! There was so much to savor and enjoy that I barely noticed I was not on-line...and so now I join you once again in cyberspace, feeling such gratitude and appreciation for all the little everyday miracles I am blessed with!

In what ways can you "unplug" for a bit and notice the simple pleasures and blessings in real life all round you?

Day 19: Being Flexible

I had plans today...I was sending my 8yo son and his buddy off with my husband for a day at the beach while I got some work done. I had visions of boxes of stuff from our latest move organized into rubbermaid storage bins and labeled, BlissScripts written, and doing an exercise DVD. I saw myself cleaning up the kitchen floors and doing some touch up painting.

Then I saw how gorgeous the weather was and the voice of my Inner Goddess whispered "go to the beach" and so in just 20 minutes, I had packed up my laptop and all my beach gear and we were off to Long Beach Island! I let go of organizing and cleaning and settled for writing a bit on my laptop while lounging at the beach house and going for a 45 minute walk on the beach.

If I had not been flexible in my thinking, I would have missed out of hearing some really fabulous tales of my nephew's recent trip to Spain and a beautiful walk on the beach on a perfect summer day.

How can you be flexible today in a way that will bring more pleasure into your life?

Day 18: Making Peace with What Is

Today, I decided to make peace with "what is" ...my husband and I had planned to have a day to ourselves while my son was with his bio-dad and we had planned to go walk around & shop & eat outside in New Hope, PA, just an hour away....and the rain came pouring down.

We had an opportunity to choose our response...be dissappointed or feel irritated that things did not look like they were going to go as planned...or go with the flow, imagine sunshine and think of fun activities to do inside in case it was raining at our destination. We decided to make the best of whatever came our way and have a fun day regardless so we gave thanks our garden plants were getting a long overdue drink of rain, and headed off into the unknown.

When we arrived at our destination, it was sunny and a perfect summer day. We enjoyed several hours of walking around before it began to sprinkle, and then enjoyed the coolness of the summer rain as we sat beneath the canopy of an outdoor bar and sipped mojitoes.

It sprinkled a bit more and we just pulled out our umbrella built for 2 and continued to enjoy our day. It was all good.

I invite you to join me in making peace with what is for this moment...the weather, others having their feelings, slow computer connections, your weight or appearance...find some soothing thoughts that makes it feel OK for everything to be just as it is....this will open up the flow for all you desire to flow easier into your experience as you will be vibrating in alignment with peace and the energy of Source.

Day 17: Hooping with Fire

Today I have been invited to see some local hula hoop artists hoop with rings set on fire. I do not plan to try it yet myself, but just the thought of learning how to do it is quite exciting!

Fire can be destructive, warming, useful, energizing, or entertaining in our lives.

I am realizing that when my husband is angry or my son is tantruming, I can either get burned or learn to hoop with their fire, using it to create great beauty and entertainment. The passion we feel as a family is an amazing bonfire of love when it is channeled constructively!

And hooping with fiire sounds way more fun than getting burned!

And so I keep learning how to dance with the energy of the fire and how to use it to fuel the creation of passion and excitement!

Today, notice what shows up as "fire" in your life and imagine ways to play with it differently or use it to create something altogether wonderful and exciting :)

Day 16: Boosting Oxytocin

I have been reading John Gray's book Why Mars and Venus Collide and learning soooo much about the different ways men and women can lower their stress hormones.

Women used to work side by side with one another, raising and caring for one another's children, interacting with other women all day long. Their oxytocin (the bonding hormone) was naturally stimulated and kept their other hormones in balance. Today, women are often doing the work of men (which builds testosterone) as well as of women and not sitting in sister circles to diffuse their stress.

So today, I am choosing to stimulate my oxytocin production deliberately by engaging in activities that have an emphasis on sharing, communication, safety, security, cleanliness, beauty, trust, cooperation, caring, teamwork, shared responsibility, consistency, compliments, affection, support, collaboration, routine, rhythm, group efforts, nurturing and virtue.

I started my day by reading and making my morning protein shake while unloading the dishwasher. Then I took care of a little mouse our cat brought in last night, made some food for my son, and did some yoga trance dancing with a virtual-video-community. Then I sent some emails and cyber-connected by offering some help to another mom on a yahoo group list. I wrote in my journal rather than fight with my husband (he was tantruming about our new laptop not working right) and I chose to bond by cuddling with my dachshund and being silly with my 8yo son. I watered some plants while listening to some soothing smooth jazz and prepared lunch while gettin my groove on. Now I am off to shop and purchase some items to take care of our family.

ahhhhh oxytocin rocks!

Now I am ready

Day 15: Creative Cleansing

Today I decided to do the 2 week cleanse recommended on www.WomentoWomen.com.

and I decided to be creative with it and make substitutions like brown rice powder in my morning shakes instead of soy and rice puffs with oil and salt instead of popcorn.

Have fun making some creative cleansing substitutions in your normal eating routine today and let me know how it goes!

I love that we get to create this life and choose what feels best from moment to moment!

Day 14:Simple Sweetness

Although her books were far more delicious and full of detail than the movie, seeing the film adaptation of Liz Gilbert's Eat Pray Love last night was a wonderful visual reminder to savor the simple things in life. My favorite part of Liz's time in Italy, was her learning to indulge in the Italian art of "La dolce far niente" - the sweetness of doing nothing. This is a lovely and romantic way of living that is really all about being in the present moment and seeing beauty all around.

So today, please join me in savoring the simple pleasures of life....

try smelling your food and admiring its beauty before consuming it and eat it slowly with lots of mmm's...lounge in your pjs...linger in the silences between sounds...savor the blessings all around you...appreciate what is without having to "do" anything ...ahhhhhhh YES! :)

"La dolce far niente"rocks!

Day 13: Eat Pray Love

Each moment is an opportunity to decide...an opportunity to choose...an opportunity to eat, pray or love. I adore Liz Gilbert's writings and am psyched to see Eat Pray Love tonight!

In preparation, I am inviting you to join me in eating consciously, praying reverently and loving everyone in your life passionately today...and maybe everyday.

In this moment I am savoring the beauty of sharing a big comfy bed with my dachschund and 8yo manchild who are sleeping so peacefully next to me as I type this...and soon will be bouncing around ready to play and go on adventures of all kinds!

Today I am choosing to savor the stillness when it comes and play through my day :)

What are you savoring in this moment? What are you choosing?

Day 12: Uplifting Media Mania

From here on, join me in selecting only the most uplifting media...turn off the news and look for TV shows and movies about inspiring true stories, listen to silly radio comedies, and read articles with uplifting themes & happy endings. Indulge in Chicken Soup for the Soul stories and put on music that makes you feel joyful and peaceful. Your health is actually dramatically affected by the vibrations y0u feed your brain over time, so it can be just as important for you to deliberately ingest only media that feeds your soul and makes you feel good when you watch it, read it or listen to it!

I chose to start my day by dancing to the Nia video Opal, listen to soothing New Age music while cleaning the house, singing in the car with my son to Lady Gaga tunes, and end my day by watching & laughing at the movie Shaggy DA with my 8 yo son :)

I am so grateful for the gifts of uplifting and inspiring media all around us and for the ability to deliberately choose which ones I focus on!

Day 11: Noticing How and Why

This morning I caught myself cleaning in a rushed and frantic way...so I stopped and slowed down and asked myself "why are you rushing?" and I realized I was believing in a false idea of scarcity of time. Once I realized this, I could notice and observe from the perspective of my Inner Being or Higher Self and just smile...then I could decide to approach my task differently...slowing down to enjoy the sensations of the cloth and oil on my big wooden table and really put love into what I was doing.

Today, take a moment here and there to notice how you are doing what you are doing and why.

If you notice you are not having fun, make a new decision about how you want to experience this moment and choose again. When we approach the same task from a joyful perspective we get completely different results and feel so much better in the process!

Day 10: Give Yourself A Gift

Both Dr. Andrew Weil and Dr. Christiane Northrup say all of the little gifts we give ourselves help to improve our health and well-being....so today, I gave myself some flowers as well as a lovely card. I am also choosing to honor myself by giving myself gifts of organic foods, filtered/blessed water, words of love, nurturing attention, joyful exercise, moments of solitude, deep breathing, and a sense of spaciousness of time.

What gifts can you give yourself today?

When we take reverant care of ourselves and lavish ourselves with simple gifts, the Law of Attraction brings us even more of what we are wanting...and others in our lives are more apt to give us gifts as well :)

Day 9: Ingesting Inspiring Ideas

This morning, after noticing all the sensations of comfort around me, I slowly moved from my bed and over to the cushion in front of my altar, and I picked up my latest favorite inspirational book, The Vortex, and asked my Inner Being for guidance. Taking a deep breath and closing my eyes, I flipped open the well-worn pages and read my inspiring quote for the day.

I encourage you to create such a ritual for yourself and maybe even a little space that you go to to start your day on an inspired, uplifted note.

If I am in a place during the day when I need some uplifting, I can return to my quote of the day or go on-line and watch and inspiring video on YouTube.

Intending to feed your mind with inspiration will build happier thought habits for your whole day...give it a try and let me know how it feels!

Day 8: Moving Deliberately

Although "Deliberate Ingestion" might imply that this blog is all about eating, there are so many other ways to ingest energies and sensations from our surroundings. Today I am inviting you to join me in moving deliberately.

I started my day by moving very slowly today and breathing deeply, then doing qigong and Nia with the help of some DVDs. I also encourage you to move throughout your day slowly, noticing how you are breathing and moving and the sensations of touch you experience. I adore Nia (especially live classes), for Nia encourages delicious, sensual, deliberate movement and a total body awareness. (If you have a chance, check out Nia on YouTube or order the Unplugged DVD from Amazon.com)

If you put on some sensual, rhythmic music, you can make even the most mundane tasks into a dance...especially if no one is watching and you can be totally free to express yourself or move at a slower pace than usual :)

Even as I type this, I am noticing my fingers on the keys and the smooth sensation of the contact between them and how my feet are making contact with the floor...and I am taking a deeper breath to just appreciate the gifts of movement and sensation I am blessed with!

Day 7: Appreciating Beauty

Today I invite you to join me in a Treasure Hunt...we are going to take a few moments here and there throughout our day to just notice beauty and harmony, to notice joy and laughter, to savor the juicy deliciousness that is all around us!

This morning I started by appreciating the radiant pink hues of a hibiscus flower, the warming rays of sunshine, the adorable lips of a guinea pig, and a sweet little tree frog that hopped across me....

What beauty can you find to appreciate today?

Day 6: Sifting & Focusing

Just as with food, we can selectively sift through the buffet of Life and select those energies or vibrations that we want to ingest, totally on purpose. This requires the ability to focus on what we are wanting, ignoring the rest.

When you go to eat a buffet, you could spend your whole time walking around saying "I don't like that or that or that .....that's gross...I can't believe anyone would eat that! how disgusting! I wish I did not even have to look at that...get it off the buffet! " OR you could just focus on the foods that look delicious to you, that you believe are the best for you and fill your plate with those, ignoring the rest. You can do the same with your whole life and the Law of Attraction will guarantee you get more of what you are focusing on.

Yesterday, I hit a wall of total emotional exhaustion after yet again another spat with my husband. I opened up one of my favorite books by Abraham-Hicks, The Vortex, and was reminded to focus on what I WANT rather than what I do NOT WANT in every interaction. For the past 3 years, I have been trying to soothe or fix my husband's moodiness, rather than selectively shift my focus to things that feel good or to my vision of the easy-going, happy people I would like to interact with. Instead of asking him to change, last night I really got that it is just me who needs to shift my focus...no need to remove the sardines from the buffet table, I just need to stop looking at them and focus on the edamame soy beans I adore!

I am now grateful that my husband has helped me know how much I want to play with juicy people who are deliberate creators, who choose to feel good on purpose, who have happy habits, and who go with the flow and make the best of things. I am now making a conscious choice to have conversations with people when they are tuned-in, tapped-in and turned-on and to excuse myself for a bathroom break if our chatting takes a downward spiral and does not feel good. This will take discipline for me and some practice, but I know that I will feel better in mind, body and spirit if I focus in this way!

Practice selective sifting today as you encounter different energies and vibrations...and remember, everything in our physical world is energy vibrating...you get to choose what you want more of by what you focus on...how cool is that?!! :)

Thursday, August 5, 2010

Day 5: Following your Bliss

Today, I am choosing to eat slowly and deliberately, savoring each morsel...but more importantly, savoring each moment...relaxing into the flow of my day and being spontaneous...letting go of attachments to plans or schedules and just following my bliss moment to moment....I am somehow getting things done that need to happen and just playing in between and during each task.

what would be your bliss today?

what can you savor or appreciated in this moment?

what can you let go of that does not match your desire to feel good?

Wednesday, August 4, 2010

Day 4: Align with Your Beliefs

This morning I awoke to an Abraham-Hicks quote: "If you believe it is good, and you do it, it benefits you. If you believe that something is bad, and you do it, it is a very detrimental experience."

So I made a list of things I think are good for me:
eating an abundance of organic veggies with soybeans and some wholegrains, taking my Bach Flower essences and herbs and vits, doing qigong, yoga or other forms of moderate exercising daily, meditating, starting my day with a soy-protein shake with agave, reading inspiring quotes from The Vortex to feed my mind, listening to uplifting music, having fun, taking long baths, eating slowly and savoring each bite, asking others to watch my son so I can have some time all by myself or hanging with my Sister Goddesses, laughing daily and being silly, sleeping 9-10 hours a day, watching uplifting true story movies, dancing spontaneously as well as doing Nia and BellyFusion classes, journaling and using my BlissScripts and Byron Katie's inquiry process to shift my thoughts to ones that feel better, making time/space for self-pleasuring and orgasms, drinking herbal teas and natural sodas sweetened with stevia, going with the flow of life, getting regular massages, having reiki attunements and acupuncture support, spending 20 min. in the sun daily to get my vitamin D, drinking filtered water that has been infused with good vibrations (placed in blue glass bottles and charged up in the sun for an hour with a blessing label on the outside or quartz crystal within), and choosing pleasure by following my bliss!

The things I think are bad for me:
arguing & fighting with my family, over-exerting myself in masculine exercise & type-A activities, white foods (flour, pasta, sugar, rice) as staples, additives and preservatives and pesticides (oh my!) , talking with people who complain or criticize a lot, watching the evening news, seeing movies or shows about murder/crime/war/horror, doing things just to get them done or solely out of obligation, soaking up too much chlorine, taking too many synthetic meds or antibiotics, getting sunburned, smoking anything, drinking alcohol or coffee, using any drugs that kill off my sweet brain cells, being stressed about anything, and constant activity (all Yang and no Yin).

Yesterday, I was invited to go chant at an ashram in NYC with some sweet Sister Goddesses, but the voice within me screamed "TOO YANG! You need YIN right now" and I imagined myself resting in a hammock. I txted my husband t work about wanting a hammock...and as soon as he got home he rushed around to 5 different stores and came back successful! I believed that I needed some quiet, still "Yin time" and so I spent 4 hours just listening to the wind in the tree above me and the sounds of crickets and birds and frogs as the symphony of dusk began, and it was sooooo good for me!

What do you believe is good for you?
What do you believe is bad for you?
What are you choosing today?

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

Day 3: Making Space by BEing Human

Just being...Deliberate Ingestion requires a shifting in consciousness as well as a repatterning of thought habits...and to create space for this to occur, I spent 4 hours today just chilling in a hammock and listening...breathing and being...so I invite you for the next 24 hours to practice the art of just being a human...being.

Monday, August 2, 2010

Day 2: Playing with Receiving

Yesterday we made a list of all the healthiest foods and drinks to focus on consuming...blessing our food before ingesting it and slowing down to fully savor it. Each day, we will be looking at a new angle of Deliberate Ingestion, including everything from the food we eat and air we breathe to the energies we notice and emotional responses we have to our experiencing.

Today, try playing with your food as well as any energies that come your way...decide how you want to take things in...with laughter or irritation? Slowly or in a rush? Savoring or barely noticing the sensations? Decide to be in a deliberate receiving mode and slow down more than usual to decide HOW you want to be in the experience before undertaking any task or taking in any sensory information. Set your intention for relaxation, bliss, pleasure, peace, love, joy...whatever makes you feel the best.

Play with your breathing...savoring the air as you take it in. Try playing with light as you focus and relax your eyes and look around for beauty to appreciate. Try playing with the sounds you take in and try listening to different kinds of music and notice how it makes you feel.

Today is a day of play...of deliberate noticing and selective receiving, so have fun!

Sunday, August 1, 2010

Day 1: Selecting & Savoring

Today is the first day of our 40 Day Deliberate Ingestion Fest! Get out a pad of paper if you want to join us...and make a list of the foods you believe are the healthiest to eat and construct your new eating plan....this is NOT a diet or a list of foods to AVOID...it is a joyous celebration of those foods you believe to honor your body temple and help you be as fit and energized as possible...everybody's list will be a bit different so do not worry about it being RIGHT...just in alignment with your own beliefs. Then you get to take delicious inspired actions of eating those foods on your list with deliberate intention. You might want to try...

*take 3 deep breaths before you eat and give thanks, blessing the food to your body
*smell your food then eat slowly, chewing each bite about 20 times while savoring it fully
*keep your meals simple and free of stress

and here we gooooo!
